PostSubject: Races of One Piece   Wed Apr 30, 2014 6:33 pm

There are a number of races within the One Piece Universe. Here are some of them:

Human: Human beings are the dominant race in the world as they outnumber most other races and are usually among the most technologically advanced and organized of the races. Most islands are inhabited by humans, even in the Grand Line. There size and height varied differently, more extremely than real-life.

Giants: Giants are a race of beings that vastly overshadow the other known races of the world in size. Being giants, they are literally giant humans in appearance. They are so large that when they cry, their tears can cause large areas on the ground to appear flooded.

Longarm Tribe: As their name suggests, all members of the Longarm Tribe have two elbow joints on each arm, which results in them having abnormally long arms.

Longleg Tribe: As their name suggests, they are a race of very long-legged individuals and because of this they are very tall and outsize the average human greatly (although they are nowhere near as tall as giants).

Fishmen: Fishmen are more fish-like than merfolk, usually looking like a combination between a man and a fish or other aquatic creature, such as an octopus, manta ray, or sawshark; however, they still have legs. Fishmen have gills near their necks, which only work when they are in water. On land, they can breathe with their lungs like humans do. However, their gills cannot breathe in air, like a normal fish cannot breathe in air through their gills.

Merfolk: Like the mermaids and mermen of folklore, their upper half is that of a human while the lower half is that of a fish. Mermaids may walk normally on land when they are thirty years old, their tails split into two on command. Like the fishmen, they are based on the different fish of the sea.
